Brian Carlton Rogers escaped from St. George's Police Station after he was arrested on Monday for violating his bail conditions.

Rogers made good his escape by forcing his way through the holding cell wall which Police described as a "stone wall.'' No details will be released as to the exact nature of his escape as a formal investigation has been launched.

Police said they have received some calls from members of the public and they have encouraged people to call with any information they may have. Police have said they consider Rogers to be dangerous and all units have been informed to arrest Rogers on sight.

There is also a special unit of Eastern Officers collecting information and tracking his movements in an effort to apprehend him.

A full scale inquiry was called for from Commissioner of Police Jean-Jacques Lemay on Tuesday.

Rogers gained notoriety after he escaped from incarceration in December, 1993, while serving a ten-year sentence for charges which included sexual assault, by jumping through a barred window of an extra security holding room at the Prison Farm at Ferry Reach, St. George's.

Rogers was sentenced to three years for his jail-break and subsequent crime spree that ended in a dramatic Police chase through Pembroke after a week on the loose.

Rogers is described as being 6ft 1in and weighing 200 pounds.

Police would like to remind members of the public that harbouring an escaped prisoner is considered a prosecutable offence.
