Samaritan robbed
The complainant told Police that at approximately 6.30 p.m. on Wednesday he was entering his car parked near Court Street when he was approached by the suspect who requested a ride to the bus terminal on Washington Street.
The man obliged, but said when they arrived at the terminal the suspect demanded money. A struggle began as the assailant tried to grab the driver's wallet and then pulled a knife from his pocket.
The victim attempted to defend himself and was cut on the right hand.
The offender managed to escape the car after grabbing a black bag from the rear seat and fled east on foot down Victoria Street.
A witness to the incident gave chase and was able to retrieve a black bag from him before he finally made good his escape. But the bag was not believed to have been the same one that was stolen in the incident.
