Debate of the estimates of expenditure of specific ministries has been scheduled for February 26, March 1, 3, 5, 8, and 10.

Legislation required to implement the Budget will be introduced on Budget Day or in time for the House to deal with it before Easter.

BURGLARS BUSY CRM Burglars busy Burglars stole quantities of jewellery and cash in two separate break-ins over the weekend.

Shortly before 6 a.m. on Saturday a Devonshire woman woke to discover her kitchen door was insecure and someone had broken into her Derwent Lane apartment.

The burglar had stolen a handbag containing $150 in US and Bermuda currency, a wallet with the initials RDH, a lady's Lapis diamond ring, a lady's gold ring with four or five white diamonds and a lady's pinkie ring with a pink leaf and a gold leaf.

Burglars also struck at a Paget guest house, grabbing jewellery and $80 from a couple's room. The jewellery included a gold ring with an opal stone, a ring with emeralds, a bracelet with a variety of stones and a diamond Tennis S-link bracelet.

Police are also investigating a break-in at a restaurant in St. George's. The intruders smashed a door and ransacked the premises causing considerable damage. Nothing was reported stolen.

JOBS FOR STUDENTS GVT Jobs for students College and university students are being sought by Government to help run its annual summer day camps.

Minister of Youth, Sport and Recreation the Hon. Pamela Gordon says the jobs will help students cope with cash problems.

Sen. Gordon explained that during the recession Government was looking at ways of assisting those studying overseas with their educational expenses. She said that one way was to increase the number of non-supervisory positions on the summer day camp programme.

It would be a particularly good scheme for students who are studying child development or are keen to work in recreation or with children, she said.

The department is hoping to hire the students over a minimum period of five weeks during the summer.

Students home for the Christmas break can apply to the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation, Old Fire Station Building, 81 Court Street, Hamilton.

ONE TOO MANY CTS One too many A man who Police found asleep on a Hamilton sidewalk was fined $150 in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Randolph Charles Richardson, 53, of Ewing Street in Pembroke, reluctantly pleaded guilty to being drunk and incapable on December 12.

"It's possible; I can't remember,'' Richardson said when asked if he had committed the offence. "I can't plead not guilty, I can't plead guilty, because I don't know what happened.'' Prosecuting, Police acting Insp. Rex Osborne said Richardson was found lying on the sidewalk on Cedar Avenue. He had to be carried to a Police vehicle and later a cell.

Richardson told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis that he was mourning the death of a lady friend.

But Insp. Osborne told the court Richardson had three earlier convictions this year for the same offence.

POLICE CHASE CTS Police chase A 17-year-old Sandys youth has been charged with driving while disqualified after Police were led on a chase along the railway tracks in Southampton last Thursday night.

The chase began about 9.30 p.m. and ended when the youth came off his Yamaha motorcycle near Scaur Hill in Sandys. He was granted bail and will appear in court at a later date, Police said.

STOLEN CAR CRM Stolen car Police are still on the look-out for a car that was stolen on November 28.

The white Nissan Sunny -- licence plate number 00043 -- disappeared from Devon Springs Road in Devonshire, Police said. Anyone who sees it is asked to contact Police at 295-0011.
