Football Team for their victory over Antigua last Saturday.

Leading the remarks, Sen. Trevor Woolridge (PLP) said: "The Bermuda National Soccer Team surely does this country well. We wish them well on their next leg.'' In addition to praising striker Mr. Shawn Goater and its coach and manager Mr.

Gary Darrell, Sen. Woolridge the efforts of sponsors such as the Bank of Bermuda Ltd. were appreciated.

He also asked the upper house to send congratulations to Bermudian artist Mrs.

Sharon Wilson Darrell who had her painting The Bond selected out of submissions from 150 artists to be displayed at the International Exhibition in Namibia.

"It is important to note that Mrs. Wilson Darrell is a former student of Whitney Institute and she has made tremendous contributions to the world of art in Bermuda and throughout the world,'' Sen. Woolridge said, adding that it is comforting to see such recognition given to someone so deserving.

The Hon. Pamela Gordon (UBP), who said Sen. Woolridge basically preempted her remarks about the football team, noted that despite the previous week of industrial unrest, "the whole evening (at the football game at National Stadium) was wonderful''.

"I do believe that evening was just what everybody needed,'' she said. "Even the Premier participated in the wave and attempted to get a ball which went outside the pitch.'' Sen. Gordon also noted that it was good to see the crowd stand for both team's national anthems, unlike at the game between Bermuda and Haiti on April 26.

The Hon. Maxwell Burgess (UBP) concurred with remarks about the football team.

He also asked that condolences be sent to the family of the late Mrs. Ethyl Burgess.

"I will remember Mrs. Burgess most by her commitment to her church, Bethel AME. She will be sadly missed.''
