They include a one percent increase in hospital levy for international businesses.

The move was part of the 1990-91 Budget, and will raise the levy for overseas companies to nine percent.

Measures in this February's Budget also come into effect today -- the beginning of the fiscal year.

A Finance Ministry spokesman said this would include all Budget legislation approved by MPs.

The exception are certain measures -- such as changes in Customs Duty -- put into effect immediately.

Among legislation effective today are: Reducing passenger tax for arriving pleasure craft to $15; New rates for employement tax; Raising licence fees for trust companies from $1,000 to $10,000; and Cutting the licence fee for non-Bermudians buying condominiums to 15 percent of the value of the property.
