Thirteen different road traffic accidents were reported across the Island between 3.30 and 6.30 p.m. as commuters headed home from work.

But there were no serious injuries in any of the multi-vehicle collisions.

Only one of the mishaps -- in which a car was overturned near Peace Lutheran Church on South Road, Paget -- led to a victim being taken to hospital.

The injured person is believed to have been treated for minor injuries and later released.

Last night Police blamed driving rain for the majority of the accidents.
