to revoke the licences of two fishermen during the Motion to Adjourn in the House of Assembly on Friday night.

Mr. Simmons was referring to the case of Leslie Pitcher and Stanley Jack O'Connor who had their licences taken away after they were found using fish pots.

O'Connor was a veteran of more than 50 years in the industry Mr. Simmons pointed out and could not, at age 67, switch easily to a new career.

And he said he hoped a resolution that would see the livelihood of both men restored was reached soon.

St. George's North MP Leon (Jimmy) Williams said that the effect of the ban was to destroy a family.

He said that both men had made a mistake when they used a friend's boat, but it was up to everyone to support Bermudian industry whether it was fishing or dairy farming.

Shadow Sport Minister Nelson Bascome said that the plight of the homeless required Government taking a look at some the buildings at the former base lands that could be used for housing.

Even though they may not initially be up to current Bermudian housing standards, he said that ways should be found to render them more accessible to lower income persons.

Mr. Bascome also suggested that Bermuda had many talented divers who needed "to move off the cliffs onto the diving platforms'' but this required the builders of the new sports complex to ensure that there were facilities available for them to do this.
