including six assaults on men and women.

Between Friday night and Sunday, officers attended 23 incidents ranging from the assaults to break-ins and shoplifting.

On Sunday, the Police were called following an attack on a 34-year-old woman by a 30-year-old man at a house in Warwick.

Police said the woman fled from the house after being punched in the face following an argument. The case is still being investigated.

In other assaults, a 25-year-old Canadian man, visiting the Island, was attacked by two men on Par-La-Ville Road, Pembroke, on Friday evening.

He was hit on the head with a piece of wood and was taken to hospital for stitches to a cut. Police said investigations into the attack are continuing.

A 16-year-old youth was arrested by police investigating an attack on a 21-year-old American serviceman following an argument between two groups of people.

According to the Police, when the victim intervened in an argument between a friend and a youth, he was hit on the head with a piece of plastic piping.

The serviceman suffered bad bruising and swelling to his head and face, after the attack on Water Street, St. George's, and was sent to King Edward VII Hospital.

Meanwhile, Police also attended seven reports of break-ins or attempted break-ins at houses in Hamilton Parish, Devonshire and Pembroke. Tools were stolen at one house and property of a low value from others.
