A regulation-sized skating rink is on the cards for Pembroke residents as Minister for Youth Sport and Parks, Dennis Lister , revealed that he has given his approval to a group who want to develop the current rink at Admiralty House Park.

Mr. Lister made the announcement during the Budget debate on Parks yesterday.

He noted that a group of stake holders had met with him and explained that the current rink was too small to play any competitive skating sports. "I was pleased to see that the principals are actually the stake holders and when the stake holders are driving a project naturally I will try to work with them,'' he added. Mr. Lister also mentioned the possibility of a Police substation in the park.

Mr. Lister said there were plans to improve the road surface, proper drainage, picnic areas and fencing around the tennis court.
