Men's Social Club, was fined $250 in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Andrew R. Smith, of Happy Valley, Pembroke, pleaded guilty to being drunk and incapable.

Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, told the court that on June 20 at 2.45 a.m.

Police spotted Smith sleeping on the walkway leading to the Young Men's Social Club on Union Street.

"They tried to wake him several times before he finally woke up,'' said Insp.

Duffy. "He was very unsteady on his feet and his eyes were glazed. Police arrested him for his own safety.'' Insp. Duffy added that Smith had previous convictions of being drunk and incapable.
