The Corporation of Hamilton is busy up-grading its traffic light and pedestrian crossing systems and several sets of lights have been shut off while work is carried out.
Three sets of lights on Front Street have already been shut down for modifications and yesterday the lights on Spurling Hill were turned off.
New computerised equipment is being installed to allow greater control of the timing of the lights.
It is expected the Spurling Hill lights will be working again later today and Police will be directing traffic during the rush-hour. Warning signs are also being put up on Cavendish Road.
