Parish at the weekend has been taken out of the Intensive Care Unit of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The 29-year-old victim received a three-inch deep knife wound which punctured his left lung, following an argument with another man at about 8.30 p.m. on Saturday night.

He underwent emergency surgery and was placed in the intensive care unit of the hospital. His condition is now satisfactory.

A 27-year-old Sandys man was arrested in connection with the incident on Sunday.

PILLION PASSENGER JURT CRM Pillion passenger hurt A teenage pillion passenger was hit in the face and scratched on Friday evening.

The 16-year-old Hamilton schoolgirl was riding on North Shore Road in Devonshire at about 6 p.m. when her attacker jumped out from behind some bushes. The attacker then struck the girl in the face with a weapon and scratched her face.

Police have questioned the girl about the attack and are now looking for a 23-year-old Pembroke woman in connection with the incident.

FRAUDSTER FINED $250 CTS Fraudster fined $250 A 25-year-old Devonshire woman was fined $250 and sentenced to two years probation for five counts of attempted embezzlement.

Wendy Lightbourne, of Alexandra Road, had also pleaded guilty to stealing and fraudulently using a Bank of Bermuda credit card when she appeared in Magistrates' Court last month.

The court heard that on July 3, Lightbourne attempted to purchase $3,300 worth of goods from Eve's Cycles with a bad cheque from a foreign bank account.

And on September 29, Lightbourne stole an EasyLink Visa card belonging to Sarah Anson.

She used the EasyLink card to go on a "shopping spree'' in Hamilton. By forging Mrs. Anson's signature, Lightbourne illegally charged $607.90 to her EasyLink account.

ROSE BUSH STOLEN CRM Rose bush stolen Police are investigating the theft of a large rose bush from the former Once Upon A Table restaurant on Serpentine Road.

Witnesses claim they saw a man drive up to the premises at about 12.15 p.m. on Sunday afternoon and remove the plant.

The cheeky thief is described as white, with a tall, thin build and receding hairline. He drove a metallic coloured car.

EX-EMPLOYEE STOLE CTS Ex-employee stole A former Mermaid Beach Club employee was yesterday given a two month suspended sentence for charging items to one of the hotel's accounts.

Roddelle Lightbourne, 27, of Middle Road, Paget, had admitted in Magistrates' Court last month that he defrauded a total of $93.84 from the Warwick Shell Gas station on two different occasions in March.

Lightbourne said he had been fired from Mermaid Beach for no reason and was not paid for two weeks work.
