Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said Rodland T. Outerbridge, of no fixed abode, presented himself at Hamilton Police Station at 2.30 p.m. on September 27 in connection with a video recorder stolen from his brother's home on September 24.

Outerbridge admitted he removed the video recorder from his brother's house on St. Monica's Road, Pembroke on September 24.

Outerbridge, who was living with his brother at the time, said he sold the video recorder on Court Street for $50 in order to buy crack cocaine.

Senior Magistrate Will Francis yesterday remanded Outerbridge in custody, pending a social inquiry report and a psychiatric report.

No sentencing date was set.
