Stole from supermarket
Sandys after being "overcome by temptation'', was fined $250 in Magistrates' Court this week.
Bernard C. Daniels, of Tribe Road No. 1, pleaded guilty to stealing. Police Prosecutor, Insp. Peter Duffy told the court that on Friday, June 26, Daniels was working from 8.30 p.m. to 11 p.m. as a part-time cleaner at the MarketPlace.
"When Daniels left the shop, a security guard saw him clutching two grocery bags containing household items,'' he said.
"The guard questioned Daniels and noticed that the items in the bag had supermarket labels. Daniels told him that he had purchased the first bag but stole the second.'' The security guard called the Police and detained Daniels until they arrived.

A 60-year-old Sandys man who was found drunk and incapable at the Somerset Bridge Recreation Club was fined $100 in Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
Carl D. Smith, of Woodlands Road, pleaded guilty to the charge. Prosecuting, Insp. Peter Duffy told the court that on July 25 Police found Smith asleep on the grass on the road side of the club.
"Police asked Smith if he was all right and found that his speech was slurred and his breath smelled of alcohol,'' Insp. Duffy said. "He was then arrested for his own safety.'' ...
INCAPABLE CTS Incapable A 33-year-old Sandys man was fined $100 in Magistrates' Court on Wednesday after pleading guilty to being drunk and incapable.
Police Prosecutor, Insp. Peter Duffy told the court that on Sunday, July 26, at 4.10 a.m. Police on patrol found Heinrick Schultz, of Railway Trails, lying on Sound View Road. "They assisted Schultz to his feet and found that he was very unsteady and his speech slurred. They arrested him for his own safety.'' The American Bermudian Friendship Festival will be held on the weekend of 12-13. Parachute teams, jet-flying demonstrations and fighter plane displays are all expected to be featured.
The show will run from noon to 5 p.m. and will be held on the runway.
