Earl Sidney Calvin Tucker, 17, of Barry Road, St. George's pleaded guilty to receiving a stolen Suzuki motorcycle valued at $1,900 on November 4.

Sgt. Kenrick James, prosecuting, said that cycle squad detectives went to a house on Lilly Park where they saw a cycle in a stripped state. The engine numbers matched those of the cycle reported stolen.

The engine, chain guard and sprockets were all damaged. When interviewed by Police, Tucker admitted he received the stolen cycle and was using its parts.

Duty counsel Mr. Carlson Philip asked the court to be lenient because of Tucker's age and career objectives.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis ordered a social inquiry report and bailed Tucker to reappear on March 9 for sentence.

CRASH DRIVER BANNED, FINED CTS A 50-year-old Pembroke man was fined $450 and taken off the road for 12 months in Magistrates' Court after he pleaded guilty to driving while impaired.

George Baisden, of North Shore Road, admitted the offence which occurred on January 14.

Prosecutor Sgt. Kenrick James told the court that when Police attended a single vehicle accident on Deep Dale Road in Pembroke, they found Baisden's car crashed into the basement of a house by the side of the road.

Baisden's speech was slurred and his breath smelled strongly of alcohol. An alco-analyser test revealed he had 133 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

When asked how his car could have ended up as it did, Baisden said that his accelerator got stuck.

NO PLEA REQUIRED CTS A 28-year-old Sandys man charged with importing cocaine and possessing the drug with intent to supply was not required to enter a plea when he appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday. Jerry Alexander Ming, of Beacon Hill, is alleged to have imported the drug on January 31 and possessed it with the intent to supply on February 3.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis bailed Ming at $3,000 and asked him to surrender all his travel documents.

He will reappear in Magistrates' Court on March 1.

BREAK-IN CHARGE CTS A 28-year-old Southampton man who was charged with attempting to break into two homes with intent to steal, and wearing a mask, was not required to enter a plea when he appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Toronto Darrell, who was represented by lawyer Mr. Lawrence Scott, is alleged to have committed the offences last Saturday.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis remanded Darrell in custody but ordered him to reappear for mention on March 1.

TAPES TAKEN CRM A quantity of reggae tapes, jewellery and food valued at $400 was stolen yesterday afternoon after a house on Spice Hill Road in Warwick was broken into.

In a separate incident, a Southampton school teacher had her handbag containing credit cards, cash and other personal items, stolen when an intruder entered her classroom while she was attending another function in the assembly hall.

The offender was seen leaving the classroom and is believed not to be associated with the school.

CLOTHING STOLEN CRM Denim clothing worth more than $2,000 was reported stolen from a clothes store on North Shore Road in Devonshire between Saturday evening and Monday morning.

The clothing, which included such brand names as Cross Colours, Karl Kani, and Rococco, was removed after thieves forced open a rear door.

Police suspect that the clothing will be sold at a reduced price around the Island and are appealing for anyone with information to contact central CID at 295-0011 or anonymously on the Police Code-a-phone at 295-1140.
