huge amount of trash revealed by Marine Clean-Up Day three weeks ago.

About 10 Bermuda Sub Aqua Club members, joined by the KBB's Mr. Alex Outerbridge, will use a barge to get as many bottles out of the sea as they can from about 9 a.m.

KBB president Mr. Barry Brewer said: "Devil's Hole is in such an unbelievable state they rose to the challenge. Last time we took a phenomenal amount of bottles out but didn't make a dent in the problem.'' Bermudians had been throwing in bottles for up to 100 years, he said.

"Everyone is really curious to see how many are down there. We have heard people have tried to put moorings in and couldn't find the bottom because of the bottles.'' During Clean-Up Day, 80 trash bags were filled at Devil's Hole, mainly with beer bottles. Around a million bottles remain, KBB believes.

At the last clean-up, workers were helped by men who regularly "hang out'' at Devil's Hole, said Mr. Brewer. "Maybe they will help this time.''
