The victim -- who was travelling as a pillion passenger on a cycle -- was attacked after a 15-year-old youth stopped the cycle in Pembroke.

It is alleged the 15-year-old pulled off the 16-year-old's helmet and hit him in the face and body.

The victim fled towards Spanish Point Boat Club when another teenager caught him, threw him to the ground and assaulted him again.

The incident happened on Friday, shortly after the 16-year-old reported that he had been robbed and beaten by two youths on Spanish Point Road on August 30.

In other weekend incidents, firefighters had to free a woman motorist trapped in an overturned car on Saturday night.

The 43-year-old Devonshire woman suffered bruising to her shoulder and thigh and was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for a check-up and later released.

The accident happened on Middle Road, Southampton just before 9 p.m.

A 28-year-old Sandys man was last night in custody after an allegation of serious sexual assault involving a 14-year-old girl. The girl reported an assault to Police on Friday evening. The man was arrested on Sunday morning.
