Kelly Lightbourne, of Cedar Park, Devonshire faced charges of theft and attempting to defraud by failing to make a cash register entry of $53.55 on November 10 while employed at the Shopping Centre in Pembroke.
Yesterday Kim Wilson, the 19-year-old's lawyer, gave letters from the principal of the Berkeley Institute and the Pembroke Community Club to Senior Magistrate Will Francis.
Ms Wilson said the letters "confirmed the recommendations of Social Services'' outlined in a Social Inquiry report.
Mr. Francis also gave a six-month conditional discharge for the charge of attempting to defraud.
