in public during a row with a man.

Vernee Leverock, 17, of Victoria Road, was stopped by Police officers in the old town in the early hours of May 6.

In Magistrates' Court last week prosecutor Veronica Gordon explained how the officers were alerted to a disturbance at Barber Alley around 1 a.m. after hearing loud shouts.

When they arrived they found Leverock walking behind a man shouting and using harsh words and profanities.

Although Police warned the teenager to stop swearing, she continued her tirade at the man and was eventually arrested.

Senior Magistrate Will Francis bound Leverock over for 12 months in the sum of $300.

"I hope that this experience has impressed on you the seriousness of this,'' Mr. Francis said.

"If you are warned by the Police to move on, then do so.''
