Police yesterday reported that they attended the Newstead Guest House, in Paget, after receiving a report of a theft from one of the rooms.

The victims, two American travel agents, said they retired to bed around 11.30 p.m.

When they awoke the next morning, they discovered a number of items missing from their room, including a black Chanel bag with a chain strap.

A second bag described as a black leather zip-up containing a wallet, cash, travellers cheques, cards, a passport and other personal items was also stolen.

Also that night, visitors staying in Warwick reported the theft of an undisclosed quantity of cash from their bedroom.

The theft took place between 6 p.m. and midnight at a Witchery Lane residence.

ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION AC Accident investigation Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a serious three-vehicle road traffic accident in Smith's Parish.

Around 4 p.m. on Sunday a Nissan car driven by a 61-year-old Hamilton Parish man was travelling east on Middle Road when he apparently lost control, crossing the centre line into oncoming traffic.

The car collided with a Honda Scoopy cycle ridden by a 27-year-old Paget woman and her 26-year-old pillion passenger.

A Toyota car driven by a 32-year-old Hamilton Parish man was also involved in the collision.

The passenger of the Toyota received minor cuts to his legs and was treated for shock at the scene.

The cycle rider sustained a broken leg and arm as well as abrasions to the back and face.
