Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said Police were called to a residence on South Road on Monday after the caretakers reported a break-in.

Sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning the culprits smashed the bottom of a window, searched the house, removed a pair of SIGMA binoculars and two Haagen Daaz ice cream bars from the refrigerator.

Police are also looking for a man who broke into a hotel room.

P.c. Venning said the visitor from North Carolina, who was staying at a Smith's Parish guest house, was awakened early by a noise in his bathroom.

When the man shouted, the intruder fled through a bathroom window with the man's wallet.
