Gavin C. Wilkenson told Magistrates' Court that he took the bike from the parking lot of the Royal Yacht Club because "I needed transportation and there were no more buses running.'' Police prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant told the court that William Adcock left his bike outside the club and returned at 1 a.m. the next morning to find that it was stolen.

Wilkenson was later arrested on another matter and was found in possession of the bike.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis remanded Wilkenson in custody until June 23.
