A 23-year-old Pembroke man was arrested after a brief struggle with Police who allegedly found he had crack cocaine and heroin.

Police attending an unrelated incident in Middletown Lane, Pembroke, saw the man flee when they approached shortly after 5 p.m. on Friday.

When they chased him they saw him throw away a plastic bag allegedly containing 11 twists of a brown powder.

At Hamilton Police station, officers say they found another twist with a white rocklike substance, believed to be crack cocaine. At 5.45 p.m. on Friday a 47-year-old Pembroke man was arrested at the parking lot at the junction of Court Street and Elliot Street on suspicion of possession of crack cocaine.
