Police have arrested three 14-year-old boys from Smith's Parish and Pembroke in connection with the deliberate burning of Harrington Sound Primary School last Friday.

A Saltus Grammar School spokesman last night confirmed the boys were all students of the private school.

"The fire set at the Harrington Sound School allegedly involving three students from Saltus Grammar School is a criminal matter under investigation by the Police,'' Saltus spokesman Dan Blagg said.

"It is regrettable that this incident has any connection whatsoever to Saltus. And the school is of course cooperating fully with the Police and offering assistance and counselling to the boys' families.'' At a press conference yesterday, Ch. Insp. Carlton Adams said Police arrested one of the boys at Police Headquarters.

"He was brought here by his mother,'' he said. "It was on our invitation.'' The two other teenagers were arrested at their homes.

The three students were interviewed in the presence of their parents and released on bail to another date. No further arrests are anticipated.

And following that review we will cause charges to be laid before a court in keeping with the Attorney General's directions. Juveniles can only be put before the juvenile panel.'' He said Police inquiries were continuing into an alleged graffiti which was found inside the burned out school.

The sentence is believed to have read: "Give me what I want and I will leave you alone'' and possibly stems from a Stephen King television movie.

"Our inquiries will hopefully put that into perspective,'' said Ch. Insp.

Adams, who renewed his appeal for a woman who telephoned Police on Monday afternoon to once again contact the major incident room on 299-4326.
