Too many birthday drinks cost $350

Graham Soares, of St. Michael's Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to the charge of driving while impaired.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Kenrick James said Police were called to a residence on St. Michael's Road on the morning of November 19.

When they arrived at the residence the Police saw Soares and began to talk to him.

Soares, who was suffering from an ankle injury, told the Police that he had been involved in an accident on his motorcycle.

He took the Police to the accident scene where the Police found Soares' bike in a hedge.

The Police noticed that Soares' breath smelled of intoxicants and asked him to give a sample of his breath for analysis.

The analysis showed that Soares had 92 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams.

In addition to the fine, Magistrate the Wor. Edward King also took Soares off the road for a year.
