Mr. Gerald Pascoe of Ferry Reach, who was in his 93rd year, was a "consummate political animal,'' and a "congenial'' bellman who worked for many of the Island's hotels over the years, said St. George's South MP Mrs. Grace Bell .

Shadow Human Affairs Minister Dr. Ewart Brown asked that condolences be sent to Mr. Vernon (Baldy) Darrell, on the loss of his uncle, Mr. George Butterfield.

Mr. Butterfield, who died in North Carolina, was born in St. George's in 1900, Dr. Brown said.

He worked as a dentist in North Carolina for many years, where he was active in politics and the human rights struggle.

Home Affairs and Public Safety Minister Mr. Quinton Edness asked that condolences be sent to the family of Rev. Richard Halverson, who died last week after retiring in March after 14 years as chaplain of the US Senate.

Mr. Edness said Rev. Halverson had spoken at two or three Parliamentary prayer breakfasts in Bermuda and had helped introduce the national prayer breakfasts now held in most countries of the world.
