Trust given $250,000 donation

$250,000 donation which will be used over the next five years to restore Bridge House in St. George's.

The Bermuda Heritage Trust, an American tax-exempt organisation, will receive five $50,000 cheques from the Starr Foundation for the National Trust. They will use the money to restore the 18th century historic home in St. George's.

Mr. Ernest E. Stempel, American International chairman and member of the Foundation, presented the first cheque to Bermuda Heritage Trust secretary Capt. A.C. Lyles yesterday.

The Starr Foundation, established by Mr. C. V. Starr, has made many contributions to the National Trust through the Bermuda Heritage Trust.

STARR STATUS -- Mr. Ernest E. Stempel, a member of the Starr Foundation, presented the Bermuda Heritage Trust with a cheque for $50,000 dollars for use by the Bermuda National Trust to restore Bridge House.
