Kenneth Boyles, 18, of Cottage Hill, Hamilton Parish, and Michael Robinson, 22, of West Park Lane, Pembroke, both pleaded guilty in the same court to stealing $60 from Donna-Rose Cooper.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said Ms Cooper, who works in the Traffic Department in the basement of Magistrates' Court, left the building to smoke a cigarette on May 22.

While she was out Boyles went behind her cubical and took some money out of her handbag.

Sgt. Mouchette said when Boyles told Robinson he had taken the money, Robinson told him to look and see if there was anymore.

Robinson locked the door and stood guard while Boyles looked for more money.

Ms Cooper unlocked the door and saw Boyles behind the cubical.

When asked what he was doing Boyles said he was looking for the bathroom and ran upstairs.

Ms Cooper searched to see if anything was missing and realised that $60 was missing from her handbag.

Boyles later told Police that he used the money to by a shirt for May 24 holiday.

SOCIAL REPORT ORDERED FOR DRUGS MAN CTS Social report ordered for drugs man Magistrate Cheryl-Ann Mapp yesterday ordered a social inquiry report on a Pembroke man who was found with cocaine and drug equipment.

Forty-three-year-old Derek Wilson, of Deepdale Road East, pleaded guilty to the charges.

Police Prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette told the court that Police arrived at Wilson's house on March 29 with a search warrant.

The officers found three homemade pipes with cocaine residue, a test-tube, plastic tubing and three pieces of metal gauze also with residue on them.

When the drug paraphernalia was tested by the Police, Sgt. Mouchette said the residue was confirmed to be 95 and 100-percent cocaine, respectively. The drugs weighed .31 grams.

Sgt. Mouchette said Wilson had told Police that he was in the habit of letting people come to his house to use cocaine and play cards.

Wilson also admitted that he used crack.

Mrs. Mapp told him that he was lucky to be alive.

She granted Wilson bail in the sum of $500 and ordered him to return to court for sentencing on August 29 when the report is expected to be completed.

FINED, DISQUALIFIED FOR DRUNK DRIVING CTS Fined, disqualified for drunk driving A Devonshire man who struck a female pedestrian while under the influence was this week fined $480 and taken off the road for a year.

Maxwell Dill, of Cedar Park Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to driving while impaired.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said Dill was riding his motorcycle along Court Street early in the morning on June 23 when he lost control of it and struck a pedestrian who was standing by a car on the side of the street.

The pedestrian suffered a broken foot, multiple abrasions, and she lost a tooth.

Sgt. Mouchette said when Police officers arrived at the scene they noticed Dill was unsteady on his feet, smelled of intoxicants, and his speech was slurred.

But Dill, who was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for minor injuries, refused to give a sample of his breath.

Duty counsel Juliana Jack said Dill had been to a class reunion and had had too much to drink.

Ms Jack also said Dill claimed that the woman he struck was not on the side, but was standing by a double-parked car talking.

US VISITOR ADMITS SHE MADE A MISTAKE CTS US visitor admits she made a mistake Possessing more than three grams of cannabis cost an American visitor $300 this week.

Lenore Vollona, 35, of New York, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to possessing 3.04 grams of cannabis.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said Vollona was searched in the Customs area after she got off the Meridian cruise ship at King's Wharf in Dockyard.

A search of her handbag revealed a half-smoked homemade cigarette in a cigarette box.

Vollona was taken back to her cabin on the ship where ten more homemade cigarettes were found in a locked safe.

She told Senior Magistrate Will Francis: "I made a mistake.''
