Francis to be charged with the attempted murder, armed robbery and unlawful wounding of taxi driver Leon Trott.
Senior Crown counsel Brian Calhoun told Mr. Francis the charges stem from an August 31 attack when the accused -- Vincent Burch and Stedman Clarke -- are alleged to have hired Mr. Trott's cab then attacked him, slashing his throat with a knife and robbing him of $270.
The two, who are charged with indictable offences, will be required to enter a plea in Supreme Court at a later date.
Over Crown objections, Burch, represented by counsel Mark Pettingill, was released on $10,000 bail with two sureties.
Clarke, represented by counsel Elizabeth Christopher, made no application for bail and was remanded in custody.
