Michael Dean Eberly, 34, and Michael Brian Pitcher, 31, both of Victoria Row, are jointly charged with murdering Beatrice Simons and breaking and entering her Cochrane Road home between December 1 and 2, 1997.

Mrs. Simons was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after neighbours heard her screams. She died from severe head and arm injuries six days later.

Yesterday, Eberly and Pitcher were further remanded in custody. The will return to court on March 20 for mention.
