morning charged with the murder of Beatrice Simons.

One, aged 34, was arrested on Tuesday.

The other, 31, was detained on Christmas Eve in connection with the killing.

Neither man has been named.

Police yesterday refused to say where the arrests took place.

Mrs. Simons, a 69-year-old widow, who worked as a seamstress at the Belmont Hotel, received head injuries in the attack at her home on Cochrane Road, Sandys on December 1.

The attack left Sandys reeling in shock.

Mrs. Simons, understood to be a Bermudian of Acorean extraction, was taken to hospital but died from her wounds six days later.

Some 20 officers were drafted into the murder inquiry headed by Det. Chief Insp. Carlton Adams. A Police appeal for public help attracted a large response.
