A spokesperson for the station reported that the sailing vessel Hallelujah called for help Thursday morning after experiencing rudder problems.

The 36-foot-yacht was participating in the Transit Race from Daytona, Florida, to Bermuda when it lost use of its rudder 120 miles south west of Gibb's Hill Lighthouse.

It was taken in tow by another yacht in the race, The Little Prince . That tow was taken over by the motor yacht Lady Alison at 10 p.m. Thursday.

The boats arrived safely in Bermuda waters last night.

Harbour Radio also received a call yesterday morning informing them that the sailing vessel Meteor was taking on water.

The 26-foot yacht was 40 miles west of the Island last night. A spokesperson said the crew were in control of the situation and the pumps were working, but was communicating with the station every hour as a precaution.
