Value of imported goods rises

second quarter. The boost was caused by a $12 million climb in fuel imports which stood at $17,657.
Increasing $5 million dollars, machinery imports and finished equipment each realised strong gains.
There was a significant increase in the number of goods imported from the Caribbean. This was mainly due to an increase in oil importation from the Netherlands Antilles.
Some $13,000 was spent on imports from the region in the second quarter of this year compared with only $3,076 last year.
Still the US was by far the country where most goods came from. A total of $133,227 worth of goods were received from the US out of an overall total of $187,378.
