Police reported on Wednesday that an elderly female visitor was walking on Pitts Bay Road near the ACE Building when the incident occurred.

The woman was heading back to her accommodation after having dinner when a man snatched her handbag off her shoulder.

She gave chase but the suspect was met by a second man on a cycle and the pair fled.

Both men are described as being of stocky build and dark brown-skinned while the navy blue handbag contained a wallet, credit cards, traveller's cheques, cash and other personal items.

Elsewhere, young private school children became the victims of theft earlier this week.

Between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning a computer and printer were stolen from the Warwick Academy infants block.
