Cash and several items of jewellery were stolen from a home on Westmount Lane sometime Tuesday afternoon.

When the resident returned home at about 5.20 p.m., he found that bedroom drawers had been opened and several items were missing.

The thief is believed to have entered through an insecure door.

Cash, jewellery and two briefcases were taken the same day from a Sun Valley Road home.

Three rooms were ransacked as the thief searched for loot.

A woman reported the break-in when she returned home around 11:30 p.m. The thief gained entry through a window.

Western CID is investigating.

Janee, of nearby South Road, caught sight of the birds shortly after 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

The man was pronounced dead at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital later that evening.
