Friday night after he arrived at the PHC club for a drink.

The man said he had arrived at the club around 10.30 p.m. and was attacked while he was speaking to a friend.

His assailant kicked him five times and the force of the blows caused him to fall and hit his head on the ground. While there his attacker first asked him for money and then proceeded to remove money from the victim's back pocket.

The victim was taken to hospital, treated and released.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, a 42-year-old Devonshire man received cuts to his face and neck requiring 27 stitches after another man hit him in the face with a bottle "for no apparent reason.'' The victim was on Elliot Street around 7.30 a.m. on Friday when the incident took place.

Police have arrested the alleged assailant and the investigation is continuing.

In a third and separate incident, the Community and Juvenile Services section is looking into a report that a family member burned a three-year-old St.

George's child on the arm with a cigarette.

AMERICAN VISITOR ROBBED OF HER HANDBAG CRM American visitor robbed of her handbag An American visitor lost her prescription sunglasses, medicine and other personal items when a man snatched her handbag while she was using the public toilets in Hamilton on Friday night.

The elderly victim said that she was alone in the public toilets on Point Pleasant Road near the Ferry Terminal around 7.30 p.m.

At the time she was washing her hands in the sink.

A man walked into the bathroom and took her waist pouch which she tried unsuccessfully to retrieve.

In the struggle she was pushed and fell to the floor. The thief then ran off.

The woman described her assailant as a white male in his twenties with a medium to slim build.

He was wearing a pink or orange top and dark pants. The nylon pouch is black in colour with three zippers and pockets.

CYCLE RIDER TREATED FOR INJURIES AC Cycle rider treated for injuries A cycle rider was treated for head and neck injuries and was detained in hospital after her cycle and a car were in collision on North Shore Road on Saturday.

The accident occurred around 11 p.m. near the junction of Crane Lane. The cycle rider and her passenger were travelling north along Crane Lane and the car was moving west on North Shore road when the accident took place.

The car was driven by a 33-year-old off-duty Police officer of St. George's.

The cycle rider was detained in hospital while her passenger received back, head and hand injuries but was released after treatment. Meanwhile, the car driver suffered a sprained left leg and minor cuts and scratches.

Both the car and the cycle were extensively damaged. The Police investigation is ongoing.
