involved in a four-vehicle road traffic accident on Sunday.

And he has been listed in critical condition at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Police reported that around 11.15 p.m. two motorcycles and a car were travelling in a westerly direction along Middle Road in Warwick.

The injured man was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle in a westerly direction and was in the process of overtaking a Subaru 700 car when he collided with a Nissan Pulsar which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The rider was thrown into the windscreen of the oncoming vehicle causing the glass to shatter.

He sustained serious head and chest injuries and a broken leg as a result of the accident.

A second motorcycle ridden by a 16-year-old Southampton man was following and also lost control after colliding with the lead cycle. He sustained shoulder and arm injuries but was released from the hospital after treatment.

A 46-year-old female driver and front seat passenger of the Nissan required treatment for cuts from the shattered windscreen and were later released. The driver of the Subaru escaped injury.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 57-year-old man was seriously injured after being hit by a truck.

The accident happened at about 2.40 p.m. Friday on Middle Road, Warwick, near the junction of Khyber Pass.

The injured man, who is from Warwick, was taken to the King Edward VII Hospital. Anyone with any information, particularly a woman who was standing on the Khyber Pass junction, is asked to contact P.c. Peter Thompson on 295-0011.
