Went through car's window
between its passengers was fined $600 in Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Ricardo Pacheco, of Hamilton Parish, was disqualified from driving at the time of the accident, Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said.
Pacheco pleaded guilty to the July 9 offence and also to driving without due care when he appeared before Magistrate the Wor. John Judge.
Insp. Duffy said Pacheco was following a car on Tee Street too closely when it braked to avoid a cat. Pacheco braked as well -- and flew over the handlebars through the car's rear window.
At this, Magistrate the Wor. John Judge remarked: "That's one way of getting a ride.'' Police at the scene found that Pacheco was disqualified from driving. For driving while banned, Pacheco was fined $350 and disqualified for a further two years ending on October 14, 1994.
And for driving without due care, Mr. Judge imposed a $250 fine and a six- month disqualification, to be served concurrently with the other ban.
