Deborah Battersbee, 48, of 10 Scenic Heights Road, Southampton, pleaded guilty yesterday to using offensive words on January 8 on Elliott Street between Princess and Court Streets.

Mr. King heard that a Police mobile patrol traveling east heard Battersbee shouting from the southern lane: "This is bull****. I don't f***ing care.'' Junior crown counsel Veronica Gordon said Battersbee was warned but repeatedly cursed at the officers.

Police noted her breath smelled strongly of alcohol and her speech was slurred.

Yesterday Battersbee told Mr. King she would not repeat her outbursts and she regretted them.

But Mr. King reminded her she was on probation for similar offences, and added: "You told me that last year. If you come back for any foolishness like this, you shall go to jail.'' Before fining Battersbee $500, he added: "I've told you before, you should retire from acting foolish in the street like this.''
