Elbow Beach Hotel resident manager Perry Robinson told The Royal Gazette yesterday that the Paget property's occupancy figures were below 70 percent.

This meant, he continued, that the hotel would be in lay-offs until the end of the month at least.

He stressed that members of staff would not lose their jobs but their work schedules would either be reduced or they would be forced to take an extra day off each week.

These changes would be minimal so they would not disrupt service for any of the resort's guests and were not as serious as wintertime lay-offs, added Mr.
