Officials have put out an "all ships alert'' for the Halcyon Mascot , which was due to arrive in the Azores up to two weeks ago and may have run into a hurricane in the Atlantic.

A Harbour Radio spokesman said the yacht, which has three people on board, left Bermuda at the end of August after stopping here for two weeks en-route from the Caribbean.

Ships crossing the Atlantic have been asked to look out for the 33-foot white-hulled vessel, which may have run into Hurricane Isaac after leaving Bermuda.

The Portugese authorities have reported that the yacht should have arrived at the Azores by the end of September or first week in October, at the earliest.

They have checked ports and found no trace of the yacht, which has a Swiss, Israeli and South African aboard.

DRUGS TRIAL ADJOURNED CTS Drugs trial adjourned The trial of two men accused of importing and possessing $30,000 of cocaine was adjourned last week until October 16 following a day of legal arguments.

Alexander Ming, 42, of no fixed abode at the time of his arrest, is charged with importing the drugs between June 21 and July 1 last year.

Kenneth Durrant, 48 of Ord Road, Warwick, denies possession of the drug.

Trial Judge Vincent Meerabux adjourned the trial after hearing submissions from Crown prosecutor Juan Wolfe and defence attorneys Mark Pettingill and Marc Telemaque.

The Supreme Court jury has heard that the 111 grammes of cocaine was found in the false bottom of a package sent from Atlanta, Georgia.
