Friday as their boat sank in heavy seas and high winds hundreds of miles off the Island.

The crew sent a mayday call after the Taxi started taking on water.

The US-registered Greenwave was alerted by the US Coastguard as the 40-foot boat began to sink. The incident happened just after 10 p.m. Bermuda time on Friday more than 300 miles northwest of the Island.

A spokesman for Harbour Radio said the Taxi was bound for a US broker's yard to be put up for sale and the crew were all non-Bermudians hired for the job.
