Three potential jurors who failed to turn up for duty at the Supreme Court yesterday morning were each fined $200 by Chief Justice Richard Ground.

He meted out the punishments after a Police officer in charge of the jury pool told him there was no reason for them to be absent from the trial of US lawyer Gary Barket on firearms charges.

Mr. Justice Ground imposed a one-month prison term on each of them in the event of non-payment.
