Bermuda will host the sixth annual International African Diaspora Heritage Trail (ADHT) Conference this October.
The conference, which will feature presentations and workshops, will be held at the Grotto Bay resort from October 15 to 17.
ADHT Executive Director Michelle Burrows said: "Implementing programmes and investing in progressive opportunities to educate and preserve culture, traditions, and history of the African diaspora is imperative in order for us to truly experience worldwide awareness and economic progress."
Dr. Niyi Coker Jr, Professor of African-American Studies at UMSL, will be one of the featured speakers at the event, along with James Ealy, the director of cultural studies at the Smithsonian Institution and Edmond Moukala, programme director at UNESCO.
Past conferences have been held in the Bahamas, the United Republic of Tanzania and Zanzibar.
