brought Bermuda's high season visitor numbers to almost the same level as 1991.

The Island's visitor arrivals since April 1 are down 0.4 percent against 1991.

The figures released by the Finance Ministry also show September to be the best performing month of the year.

Airport arrivals were up 26 percent in September's first week, down ten percent in the second and up 17 percent in the third week.

For the week ending Sunday, the number of visitors passing through the Civil Air Terminal increased by 785, or 9.8 percent.

The growth in airport traffic follows airfare reductions offered last month by US airlines and recently extended until the end of October.
