A total of 9,656 persons arrived by air between August 21 and August 27 compared to 10,516 in 1994.

Cruise visitors, however, showed some improvement with 8,032 visitors compared to 7,679 in 1995 an improvement of 353 persons.

Overall, 555 fewer visitors came during this period -- 17,691 in 1995 compared to 18,246 in 1994.

For the year since January 1 until August 27 this year, 384,005 visitors arrived by air and sea while 408,031 arrived in 1994, a reduction of 5.9 percent.

Air visitors coming to the Island so far this year total 288,884, 22,552 or 8.2 percent fewer than in 1994.
