Belcario Thomas checks in for health test 'Am I Grade A beef, or Grade B?'
"It's all Grade A beef," declares nightlife impresario Belcario Thomas as he prepares to check in for the 100-Day Challenge.
At the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, the 6ft 3in United promoter weighs in at 271.6 lbs, prompting him to state: "I'm lithe and Ninja-like."
A further test however, reveals the 33-year-old's body fat is 31.3 percent.
KEMH nurse Karima Stevens tells him: "We've got some work to do."
"But that's good for a Sumo wrestler," he jokes, slightly readjusting his previous 'Ninja' status.
When it comes to the blood pressure reading, Mr. Thomas is confident. "I think it will be good, I'm not stressed," he says. And it's not bad, at 141 over 89.
His blood sugar test however, is a wake-up call. At 155, Miss Stevens tells him he is "pre-diabetic".
"It means you need to modify your lifestyle, exercise, and keep an eye on your blood sugars," she says.
After measuring his waist, chest, hips and arms, she concludes: "He's pretty much in shape, just moderately overweight, but has to keep an eye on his blood sugar."
"So would you say Grade B beef?" offers Mr. Thomas.
