Serpentine Road store burglarised
Cash was stolen from a Serpentine Road business overnight on Friday.
The complainant told Police that some time between 8.30 p.m. and 5.40 a.m. on Saturday, someone broke into an office and stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Impaired rider rams into SUV
An alleged drunk driver caused almost an hour's traffic delay after his cycle collided with a car.
Police attended the accident on The Lane in Paget near the junction with Appleby Lane at 3.15 p.m. on Friday.
It appeared the motorcycle and an SUV were both travelling east on The Lane with the SUV in front of the motorcycle when the motorcycle collided with the back of the SUV.
The rider of the cycle, a 27-year-old Southampton man, sustained facial injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.
He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained at Hamilton Police Station after failing the breathalyser test.
The driver of the SUV, a 28-year-old Sandys parish woman, was not injured.
The motorcycle received extensive front-end damage while the SUV received moderate rear end damage.
Traffic was diverted away from the scene of the collision for approximately an hour, causing some delays.
