into a car traveling along Devon Lane near Orange Valley Road.

Police were called to the scene in Devonshire just after 5.30 p.m. when the driver of the car reported the incident.

The driver claimed the horse bolted from a field and collided with the side of his car.

While neither the animal nor the driver sustained injuries as a result of the collision, the car received dents to a side wing, door and windscreen wiper, reported a Police spokesman.

The horse's owner was contacted and a settlement has been reached between the two parties, he said.

STREET FESTIVALS ET FOR MARCH 11 TOU Street festival set for March 11 Tourism's annual street festival takes place on Front Street next month.

"A Taste of Bermuda'' will feature majorettes, an arts centre, a playground for children, a food court and street vendors displaying a variety of locally created arts and crafts.

"The festival is designed to give visitors an overview of the Island's culture, people and customs,'' said Tourism assistant director Mr. Randy Horton. "This year we are hoping that more people will come out and join the activities.'' The festival, scheduled for March 11, will be held on Front Street -- between Parliament and Queen Streets -- from 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

JAMAICAN FINED FOR CANNABIS CTS Jamaican fined for cannabis A 32-year-old Jamaican was fined $150 yesterday in Magistrates' Court after pleading guilty to possession of cannabis.

Police charged Horace Valentine Wray with possession on October 15 and it was later determined that he had in is possession .085 grams of cannabis.

RIDER BANNED CTS Rider banned A 22-year-old Hamilton Parish man was fined more than $1,100 in Magistrates' Court on Monday for a long string of driving offences. He pleaded not guilty to the most recent two. McDonald Dudley DeSilva, of North Shore Road, was fined $350 and barred from driving for 12 months for riding his cycle while disqualified on October 24, $50 for failing to stop at a stoplight on the same date and $100 each for failing to stop at stoplights at City Hall car park and the Hamilton Bus Terminal respectively.

DeSilva also pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified on Princess Street on February 14 and failing to stop for Police. He was fined $400 for the first offence and $150 for the latter.

But he denied driving while disqualified on February 18 and violently resisting arrest.

He was bailed for $500 and faces a trial on June 9.

CYCLES STOLEN CRM Cycles stolen Police responded to several crime reports over the weekend.

They reports included five assaults, 14 break-ins, 27 stolen cycles, five cases of stealing, and 16 road traffic accidents.

Six of the accidents involved injuries.
