Breaking News: Man dies in fiery crash
A man travelling in a car died after it collided with a truck and burst into flames early this morning.
The Royal Gazette understands others may also have been injured in the accident, which occurred on South Road in Warwick near the junction with Dunscombe Road, around 1.30 a.m.
Police are today appealing for witnesses but have yet to release the name of the man who died.
Said a spokesperson: "Details regarding the circumstances of the collision remain unclear, however it appears the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.
"The car then caught fire. A man travelling in the car died at the scene."
The spokesperson continued: "As a result of this fatal collision, the area of South Road from Dunscombe Road to Warwick Lane will be closed to all traffic until further notice as the investigation into this matter continues; therefore the motoring public is advised to take alternate routes."
